Dear Parents/ Guardian

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK:

GO WHERE OUR VISION IS - PREMIER SCHOOL SERVING COMMUNITY

We are happy to welcome your child to a new school year in 2012.  We trust that your child had a good break during the December school holidays and he is now ready for another exciting year of learning and growth.

At Fuhua, we aspire to be a Premier School, Serving Community – a community of Fuhuanites with sound values, good character and all-round excellence, supported by staff who are mission oriented and values-based.  Implicit in our vision is our commitment to nurture the Whole Fuhuanite; to bring out the best in every student by providing a quality school experience.  To this end, we would like to seek your support on the following:

Every Fuhua Student Can RISE

RISE- Respect . Integrity .Service . Excellence

Students’ Code of Conduct

4As - Attendance, Appearance, Attitude & Accountability

We believe that building a strong character with sound values is the most important part of your child’s education.  As such we shall be constantly reinforcing our school values as well as the Students’ Code of Conduct[1]. Your child has been briefed on the rationale of the rules and the importance of upholding good conduct. We would appreciate if you can also go through these rules with your child and encourage him to uphold the 4-As.

Academic Targets

We believe that every student at Fuhua can learn at high levels and excel academically. We shall continually emphasize the importance of regular attendance, a positive attitude and consistent effort for every student to achieve the best results he is capable of. We want every student to begin the year with a strong resolve to do well in his studies. The Form Teachers and Subject Teachers will be helping your child set high academic targets for 2012 in the coming weeks; and together we will encourage him to work towards achieving them.

Co-Curriculum

To enable our students to acquire the 21st century skills such as creative thinking, problem-solving and thriving in diversity, we have lined up many opportunities in and out of classrooms for them.  These include Co-curricular Activities (CCA), Community Involvement Programmes (CIP), Learning Journeys (local & overseas), Leadership & Development Camps, among others.

CCAs are very important to support the all-round development of your child, as they offer unique opportunities to build character and hone skills.  We need every student to take personal responsibility in attending CCA sessions and seek your support to ensure that your child takes his CCA seriously.  Please note that CCA attendance is one of the criteria for promotion.

A copy of our School Calendar of Events[2] can be found in the Students’ Handook as well as our website.  Please use it to help remind your child to participate in the various learning opportunities, to plan his work and be prepared for the different tests and examinations.

Parents as Partners

At Fuhua, we believe that your care, support and involvement will inspire your child to give his best.  We trust in your support and commitment to your child's education and look forward to meeting you at the Parents-Meet-Teachers (PTM) sessions this year. Please be informed that your child’s Form Teacher will be making a courtesy call to you during the first 1-2 weeks of the school term.

Thank you for partnering us to provide a quality education for every Fuhuanite, and go where our Vision is.

Wishing you and your family a Happy and Successful New Year!

Yours Sincerely,

Mdm Jennifer Tan

Principal
